The Story of Isak

Commissioned for the 2018 Breckenridge International Festival of Arts, Isak was brought to life by Danish artist Thomas Dambo. His existence is a testament to the power of upcycling, built entirely from scrap wood and pallets.

"The 'Heartstone' is a physical heart-shaped rock placed inside the troll by local children during its construction, symbolizing the heartbeat of the community."

Conservation Ethos

Isak serves as a global ambassador for sustainability. The sculpture is part of a larger mission to reconnect people with nature through art while promoting Leave No Trace principles. In a high-traffic mountain town, Isak stands as a reminder that we can create beauty from what society discards.
