The figures use Botero's exaggerated, rounded proportions. Published heights do not agree. The Denver Gazette and Go Play Denver describe them as about 13 feet tall. A 2023 303 Magazine article said about 8 feet. The Arts and Venues guide does not list a height, so this page does not treat either number as official.
The date is also reported more than one way. The city guide and the Denver Post account use 1998. A September 15, 2023 Denver Gazette article says the sculptures were installed in 1988 and, in the same story, that they have greeted visitors since 1983. 303 Magazine also says 1983.
