5280's April 16, 2024 guide says the playground has been popular since 1998, when Children's Hospital approached the city with funds and a grant paid for the rest. It describes supportive swings, an undulating walkway for wheelchairs, steps and paths painted for people with visual impairments, sand pits, and brightly colored decorative fish. 5280 prints the address as 7355 W 103rd Ave. and says the park is a few miles from Children's Hospital Colorado's North Campus.
The City of Westminster playground inventory is the address and year used on the map: Sensory Park, 10376 Wadsworth Blvd., year built 2000, west district, surface EWF, with a recorded improvement "Replace Sand / EWF" completed in August 2016. A January 19, 2012 Colorado Community Media report, citing the city, also said Westminster and Children's Hospital built the playground in 2000. That 2012 story placed a hospital therapy center at 7577 W 103rd Ave., across from the park, and said the center was moving.
