The Deep Dive

Details most visitors never learn about.

History

The "Ghost" Memorial

Planned site for a Lao Hmong Memorial featuring a T-28 Trojan Warbird. In a strange twist, the project was relocated in 2025, and the specific plane intended for display crashed in California.

Conservation

Hidden Habitats

Sustainability goes deep here. Trees removed during renovations weren't discarded; they were repurposed to create underwater fish habitats in nearby water bodies.

Sports

Disc Golf Resurrection

Closed in 2023, redesigned and reopened in late 2025. The current 9-hole layout is just "Phase 1" of a larger plan to restore the full 18-hole experience.

Visitor Essentials

Timing the Water

Fountain operates Memorial Day - Labor Day. Winter offers a stark, quiet reflective experience.

Parking Strategy

Lots near Christopher Fields fill fast. Use the smaller east side lots for the Tribute Garden.
